President’s Message…

Just like the rest of the valley, winter is a busy time for our DKG chapter. Once again we met at Karen Dorn's wonderfully eclectic home in February to have a double meeting - creating our Jared Boxes and being introduced to the books we are donating to our area libraries.  We passed last year's record setting total and sent 104 Jared boxes to Loma Linda Children's Hospital this year!  Once again, we also sent a variety of books to our libraries, including a bilingual one and Hidden Figures, which the current hit movie is based on.

Roxanne also gave us a report at the February meeting about what a great success January's Texas Hold 'Em fundraiser was. It will allow us to keep offering our annual scholarships to high school seniors.

Finally, a majority of our chapter was able to attend the Founders Day 2017 celebration at the Desert Willow Golf Clubhouse in February. We had good company, good food, good entertainment and still managed to be done by lunchtime. That's what we like!

We hope to see you all at Lisa Bohan's for our annual St. Patrick's Day celebration. Don't forget to register below!

5 STAR HONOR CHAPTER

Theta Epsilon prides itself on being recognized as a 5 Star Honor Chapter every year by DKG California. There are six areas where we can accumulate points to come up with the required 24 - 37 points needed to win the 5 Star recognition.  For the next few months we will be going over the different areas where points can be accumulated so each of you can help us reach our goal for 2016-2017:

Area 3.  COMMUNICATIONS - Did your Chapter send:

  • electronic copies of your Chapter Yearbook (Directory) to the Area Director?
  • your Chapter Newsletter posted ona website or emailed?
  • Chapter Newsletters to the Area Director, the DKG California President, DKG California 1st Vice President, Area Director Coordinator and the DKG California Connection Editor?
  • this Honor Chapter Criteria Checklist to the Area Director by March 1?
  • Does your chapter have a website?
  • Does your chapter have a brochure?
